Baltimore native Jonathan Harris, better known by his stage name Big Jon, is making waves as an up-and-coming Hip Hop artist with a message, a mission, and a microphone in hand. With a deep-rooted passion for storytelling through music, Big Jon is stepping into the spotlight with the goal of restoring meaning and authenticity to modern Hip Hop.
A Love for Hip Hop That Started Young
Big Jon’s journey into music began at the age of 12, when he first discovered the power of Hip Hop. Influenced by legends like Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Eminem, Jay Z, Kanye West, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Lil Wayne, Jon found inspiration in their storytelling, energy, and lyrical prowess. By 16, he was writing his own songs and performing them at school talent shows, church events, and block parties—earning praise from classmates, teachers, and his community alike.
“Their work inspired me to write my own lyrics and rap in front of people, especially when it came to telling stories,” Big Jon shares. “It helped me be more open, expressive, and confident in who I am as an artist.”

Staying True to the Craft
What sets Big Jon apart is his unwavering commitment to authenticity over trends. Rather than chasing viral moments, he focuses on staying true to his identity as a rapper and songwriter—bringing real emotion, dynamic storytelling, and energetic performances to every track and show.
“I want to make a difference in the music industry and bring quality over quantity back to Hip Hop,” he says. “I’m not just doing this for me. I’m doing it for my mom.”
After losing his mother in 2021 to pancreatic cancer, Jon took time to reflect before reigniting his passion for music. Her memory now fuels his creative fire, pushing him to pursue his dreams with even more determination.
Debut EP “Here I Come” Drops Soon
In the summer of 2024, Big Jon returned to the studio to begin work on his debut EP, “HERE I COME,” featuring six powerful, self-written tracks:
Rise Again, Sponsor, Spirits, Powers, No More, and Don’t Judge Me.
The EP was produced and recorded at SongBuilder Studios in Baltimore, with “Powers” recorded at the renowned Lounge Studios in New York City. Each song reflects Big Jon’s passion for storytelling and meaningful music.
Currently, Big Jon is working on new material, with a planned recording session in NYC this September. He’s also exploring new beats, developing song titles, and continuing to push boundaries as a lyricist and performer.
Future Collaborations & Dreams
While he’s currently an independent artist, Big Jon has big dreams of collaborating with top talent in the industry. On his list? Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Thee Stallion, and more.
“I believe with my music and their talent, we could create something powerful—something audiences can really connect with.”
A New Artist With Purpose
Big Jon’s journey is one of perseverance, passion, and purpose. With each verse he writes and every beat he raps to, he’s building a career rooted in substance and soul. His goal is not just to make hits—but to make a lasting impact.
So whether you’re a Hip Hop head looking for a new artist with lyrical depth or a music lover who believes in the power of storytelling, keep your ears open—because Big Jon is coming
