PLF Lace’s upbringing shaped both his music and his relentless drive. Born in Little Haiti, with parents from Haiti, life wasn’t always easy. “It got rough,” he recalls. “Little Haiti in the early ’90s, Zoe Pound was wreaking havoc, so we moved to North Miami Beach.” It was in North Miami Beach that his life took a turn. For the first time, his family had cable, and it was then that PLF Lace was introduced to rap videos. “I was able to see the rap videos, and I was like, ‘This has to be me,’” he says. “But not for just the video. I want the big chains, the cars, the houses. I want to show them how I’m living.” This vision of success was ingrained in him from a young age and has stayed with him throughout his career.

Evolving as an Artist

As with any artist, staying motivated and continuing to evolve is key to success. For PLF Lace, this motivation comes from life itself. His music reflects the highs and lows of his journey. “I write about what I’m going through currently or what I’ve been through,” he shares. “I’ve been through a lot and I’m still here standing stronger than ever. It’s a blessing, so I have to let the world know my story.”

He stepped into the studio for the first time and recorded his first track, though he humorously admits it was far from perfect. “Yea, it was straight trasssssshhhhhh,” he laughs, recalling the experience. But even with that early, rough start, he knew this was his calling. Since then, he’s grown immensely as both an artist and a person, and now, he feels like he’s at the prime of his career. “I feel like I’m at my prime,” he says. “I finally understand more importantly the music side of things. PLF Lace 2025: all gas, no brakes.”
