Music often mirrors life, emotions, and personal experiences, and for Achanté, it is an intensely personal journey. With a distinctive sound and passion that resonates in every note, she is carving a unique space in the music industry. In this exclusive interview, Achanté delves into her inspirations, creative process, and upcoming exciting projects.
The Genesis of a Musical Career
Achanté’s love for music began early, growing up in Mumbai, India. She started singing and participating in competitions when she was just three, encouraged by her mother. Over the years, she honed her talent, performing and recording as a vocal artist. However, her journey as a singer-songwriter truly blossomed in 2021 when she moved to Toronto and embraced life after the pandemic.
Where the Music Comes From
For Achanté, music is not just sound—it’s a way to understand herself and the world around her. “The inspiration has always come from within, not from the outside world,” she shares. “It began as a way to process my emotions when I was leaving my home, my family, and my friends. Over time, songwriting has evolved into a tool for making sense of what it means to be human in 2025.”
The Creative Process
When it comes to making music, Achanté always begins with the vibe. “Always, ALWAYS the vibe!” she insists. Unlike many artists who start with a beat, she takes a more natural approach. “I probably have only three songs in my entire catalogue that began with a beat. Writing from scratch, using instruments and raw ideas, works best for me.” Her inspiration comes at the most unexpected times—whether she’s walking, cooking, or sharing a drink with friends.
Staying Motivated and Growing as an Artist
Rather than chasing fame or fortune, Achanté stays driven by the act of creation itself. “If fame were my goal, I would have likely given up by now,” she confesses. “I make music because I have thoughts that need to be expressed. Art should be shared, not kept to oneself. Even if my music reaches just a few people who need to hear it, that’s enough for me.”
Exciting New Projects Ahead
Currently, Achanté’s creative energy is at an all-time high, with a vault full of new music awaiting release. While she’s focused on refining her sound and writing new material, she plans to release a few singles in 2025, including an electronic dance track titled Touch The Sky, a collaboration with Toronto artist Balisi, produced by Loup V.
Looking ahead to 2026, she’s working on a project titled Elemental, which will feature tracks inspired by the four natural elements—earth, fire, wind, and water. “It’s going to push sonic boundaries, and it’s been an incredible growth experience for me as an artist and producer,” she says.
Collaborations and Features
Achante has already collaborated with some impressive artists. Her song PBE (Princess Bitch Energy) features Spitty, a rapper and community leader from Brampton, Canada. She is also featured on S.O.S, a track co-produced by Sickflip, a renowned Indian DJ-producer with an international fanbase and over 274,000 monthly listeners.

A: Thankfully, my motivation isn’t fame or fortune. If it were, I would have probably given up by now! The drive comes from within—it’s about expressing the thoughts I have.
